Covering around 65,000 m² it is the largest historic complex in South Tyrol. Built in the 19th century to protect the route between southern Germany and northern Italy, it was never used in active combat, but served as an arms depot until 2003. Today, the fortress is open to visitors and offers a fascinating journey into contemporary history.
